In a Dark, Dark Wood

From the author of The Woman in Cabin 10...
Nora hasn't seen her high school friend, Clare in a decade. Something must have put distance between them for them to have lost touch, but suddenly Nora receives an email inviting her to Clare's bachelorette party. Unsure of going, she is coaxed forward by another friend from her teenage years.
Things begin to go wrong the first night. Mix together hurtful comments, alcohol, and drugs, along with a mentally unstable maid of honor, and you have a recipe for disaster.
In a Dark, Dark Wood sets a nice pace that is neither rushed nor dragging. It has the plot twists you would expect but doesn't linger too long after the reveal, as books in this genre sometimes do. It's just a nice concise thriller. It's no wonder there is talk of this one becoming a movie.
